Materialities of Writing

1. While writing with a crayon my perspective was a bit different. I felt like it was easier to open up because pens and pencils seem more formal to me. When I first wrote my opinion of Emily Dickenson's poem, I wrote it in pencil on a separate piece of paper. Afterwards, while I was re-writing my opinion i changed a few words around and thought of more ideas that i would not have if i was writing with pens or pencils.
2. The adjectives i used to describe the pages relate to the appeal of the writing. I looked for the pages that had the most writing or the 2 that had the drawings on them. Then the writing was judged on the formality of the writing.
3. I think a culture that writes in crayons would be an expressive group of people. When writing in crayons you have more ways on expressing an opinion or emphasizing a point, by changing how bold or fine the writing is, or how colorful it is.
4. i would much rather write in crayons instead of pens and pencils. I love to color my writing to emphasize a point or to help prove a point by changing the color of a sentence or something along those lines.

Pantene Commercial

During the commercial, I noticed that the deaf girl walked a lonely road. She was always the person that was left out. She tried really hard to fit in but couldn't. When she got older, she met an older man, who appears to be homeless, and starts crying. She knew the man and was emotional to find out that the person still played the violin. My guess is that he inspired her to play the violin.

I thought the ending kind of turned into a Cinderella story, when Cinderella's dress was torn before the ball. This relates because right before her big performance, the deaf girl was attacked, along with her "mentor". Her violin was broken and my guess is that she did not have the money to replace it, because she showed up with the same violin all taped up. She was the highlight of the night because at the end of the show, the people were in awe. Haha but it wasn't for her performance which was funny because if i did not know it was a pantene commercial, I would have thought differently about the ending.
